Jeden z najsłynniejszych symboli miast na świecie - pomnik Chrystusa Odkupiciela w Rio de Janeiro. Tak jak Wieża Eiffela w Paryżu i Big Ben w Londynie, rozpostarte ręce Jezusa przywodzą na myśl to jedno miasto i ten jeden brazylijski naród, tak bardzo religijny i oddany Kościołowi Katolickiemu. One of the most famous city symbols in the world - the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro. Just like the Eiffel Tower in Paris and Big Ben in London, spreaded arms of Jesus remind of this one city and this one Brazilian nation, so religious and devoted to the Catholic Church. Zauważyłam, że z Brazylii ciężko jest trafić na inną kartkę, niż taką, która przedstawia Rio de Janeiro. Dlatego tym bardziej cieszę się, że mogłam poznać miasto Belo Horizonte, którego nocny widok przedstawia ta pocztówka.
Belo Horizonte to stolica stanu Minas Gerais, w południowo-wschodniej Brazylii, jedno z największych miast tego kraju. Ciekawostką jest organizowany tam festiwal Comida di Buteco, podczas którego wybierane są 41 bary, w których serwowane są drinki z corocznie wybranym innym składnikiem. Następnie jury wybiera najlepszy bar. Wszystko dlatego, że Belo Horizonte jest nazywane "stolicą sąsiedzkich barów".

I've noticed that it's hard to get a postcard from Brazil, that doesn't show Rio de Janeiro. That's why I'm so happy that I could get to know the city of Belo Horizonte, which night view this postcard shows.
Belo Horizonte is a capital of the state of Minas Gerais in the southeastern Brazil, one of the largest cities of the country. The curious thing is festival Comida di Buteco, during which 41 bars are chosen to serve the appetizers with one annual different ingredient. Then jury chooses the best bar. All because Belo Horizonte is called "capital of the neighbourhood bars".

Najsłynniejszy widok Rio de Janeiro, symbol tego miasta. Pomnik Chrystusa Odkupiciela został wybudowany na upamiętnienie setnej rocznicy odzyskania niepodległości przez Brazylię. Chrystus obejmuje swoimi ramionami całe miasto oraz wita gości przybywających od strony morza.
Brazylijczycy mówią, że Bóg przez sześć dni tworzył świat, a siódmy poświęcił na Rio, dlatego ich miasto jest tak piękne. Może mają rację?

The most famous view of Rio de Janeiro, symbol of this city. The Christ the Redeemer statue wa built as a commemoration of the 100th independence anniversary. Christ embraces the whole city with His arms and welcomes guest coming from the sea.
The Brazilians say that God created the world in six days and the seventh took for creating Rio, that's why the city is so beautiful. Maybe they're right?

No i nareszcie doczekałam się pierwszej kartki z Brazylii!

W języku portugalskim Rio de Janeiro znaczy "Rzeka styczniowa". Jest to niezwykłe miasto, gdzie mieszkańcy mogą jednocześnie podziwiać góry oraz morze. Największą atrakcją jest 38-metrowy posąg Chrystusa Odkupiciela znajdujący się na górze Corcovado, który od 2007 roku jest jednym z 7 Nowych Cudów Świata. W Rio odbywa się też najsłynniejszy i najbardziej widowiskowy karnawał, który zaczyna się w ostatni piątek przed Środą Popielcową i trwa 5 dni.

In Portuguese Rio de Janeiro means "January River". It's an extraordinary city where citizens can admire mountains and sea at the same time. The biggest attraction is 38 m tall statue of Christ the Redeemer on the Corcovado Mountain, which is one of the New 7 Wonders of the World since 2007. In Rio there is the most famous and spectacular carnival which starts on the last Friday before the Ash Wednesday and lasts for 5 days.
