Oregon znajduje się w północno-zachodnich Stanach Zjednoczonych, u wybrzeży Pacyfiku. Granice stanu są w dużej mierze wyznaczone przez rzeki Kolumbia (na północy) i Snake (na wschodzie). Przydomek to "Stan bobrów", a dewiza "Alis volat propriis", która oznacza "Na własnych skrzydłach". Stolicą Oregonu jest Salem, jednak największym miastem jest Portland. Najgęściej zaludnionym regionem w stanie jest Dolina Willamette - znajduje się tam osiem z dziesięciu największych miast w Oregonie - ze względu na to, że to jedno z najbardziej urodzajnych miejsc na świecie. 
Oregon jest bardzo bogaty w piękno natury - znajdują się tu dwa łańcuchy górskie (Góry Nadbrzeżne i Kaskadowe, w których można spotkać również wulkany), wodospady (m.in. wodospad Multnomah, najwyższy wodospad w USA), wiele różnych typów lasów, a nawet pustynia High Desert. W Oregonie znajduje się również Park Narodowy Jeziora Kraterowego, najgłębszego jeziora w USA, a siódmego na świecie (597 m głębokości).

Oregon is located in the northwestern of USA, by the Pacific Ocean. The Columbia and Snake rivers delineate most of the northern and eastern boundaries of the state. Its nickname's "Beaver state" and motto "Alis volat propriis" which means "She flies on its own wings". The capital of Oregon is Salem but the largest city is Portland. The Valley of the Willamette River is the most densely populated area - there are eight of ten the most populous cities - because it's one of the most fertile places in the world.
Oregon is very rich of the nature's beauty - there are two mountain ranges (Pacific Mountain System and Cascade Mountain Range, where volcanos also appear), waterfalls (i.a. Multnomah Falls, the tallest waterfall in the USA), various types of forests and even High Desert. There's also Crater Lake National Park, where is the deepest lake in the USA and seventh in the world (597 m depth).
